Oishii Sushi in Sunnybank Hills

I went here after searching for good sushi places in Brisbane.

I was not disappointed.

AMAZING sushi.

Their tuna sashimi is a generous and gorgeous red serve of very delicious fish.

The Dynamite roll has a great kick to it without being overpowering on the spice. Will definitely have that again.

I also tried the scallops in garlic butter. Had I been sitting inside, they might have stayed hot longer, but the garlic butter sauce was to die for and the scallops were cooked to perfection.

Great experience at Oishii. Highly recommend it and will be going back as soon as I can.

Wagaya Japanese food

This place is AMAZING. I love the ordering system of the ipad at the end of the table. WARNING! You may order more than you can eat.

The tuna sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

The grilled eel, which I have never liked anywhere else I have tried it, will make me try it other places. The sauce on the eel is gorgeous and the eel melts in your mouth.

The rolls could do with less mayo, but that might be my dislike of Japanese mayo.

The gyoza is perfect, soft and well pan-fried with awesome flavour.

They seem to love grapfruit juice in their cocktails. I was somewhat disappointed that the cocktail menu was not clearer as to what was in each drink.

The green tea cheesecake is disgusting. DO NOT ORDER IT. It's as if someone just smashed dried green tea into a day-old cheesecake and re-formed it. AVOID!!

Despite a weird cocktail and a bad taste of someone's dessert, I would highly highly recommend Wagaya to anyone who loves Japanese food.

Mizu in Brisbane Birthday Dinner

My birthday dinner at Mizu in Tenneriffe was pretty damn good. When we got there, the hostess said that we could not order the Wagyu steak, which worried me, as I was sure that was what G was having. I asked if that meant all Wagyu foods were off the menu. She said that there was a Wagyu steak with soy butter on special. SIGN US UP! Untitled

After much contemplating, I went with the sushi platter. We had starters as well. OMG YUM! Edamame is possibly my fave food. It was yummy yummy.

Their gyoza was really yummy too. It could have been a bit crisper but it was nice. Untitled

We tried the ebi kushi age, which was deep fried prawn balls with a wasabi mayo. YUMMERS! G, who is not a fan of prawns even really enjoyed them!

The tempura was nice and light, not too oily, which is good. Untitled

G had the Wagyu with soy butter and rice. OMG it was so goddamn yummy. Melt in your mouth beef cooked in possibly the most delicious sauce I have ever had.

I had the sushi platter. It was HUGE! I always wish that they include more tuna than they do, but that is my preference for the tuna and not so much for salmon. That said, their salmon is good. The rolls were nice and the presentation was fabulous.

We managed to finish it all. BURP!

We even had room for dessert. G had the kuragoma cake, which was a sesame cake and I had the azuki banana chocolate.

It was a good dinner. A bit expensive but really delicious. I would definitely go back there.
